Falling into Autumn!

Fun with Fall Songs

September 23rd-27th

This week in music class our theme was the changing of the season. We explored how trees change colors and what we thought they might turn to from green. Then we used these color words to sing "The Leaves on the Trees". We talked about the sounds that we hear in nature and how they create the music of our earth. We read Leaf Jumpers which incorporated all of these fun concepts! We sang about "Five Little Owls", "Tiny Tim" the turtle, and Baby Beluga. We also got moving again with "Clap, Clap, Clap Your Hands" before getting our instruments. With the 3's and 4's we used the rhythm sticks again and the younger kiddos got to play with fruit and veggie shakers! The shakers were a big hit, especially with the familiar shapes. We shook and tapped to the rhythm of some of our favorite nursery rhymes like "Row Your Boat", "We are Very Good Tappers", "Wheels on the Bus" and more!
