BUGS!
This week the theme for our class was insects! Some bugs are cute and tiny and some bugs are creepy and crawly so I thought it would fit nicely into October. With the 3's and 4's classes I included reading the book Tiny Little Fly and I think they really enjoyed it! They would interject when they recognized the animals on the page and it was really awesome. All classes sang the Itsy Bitsy Spider including some fun new verses that got a bit silly. I brought some play bats with me and the kids were able to use them for There's a Bat! by placing them on our toes, knees, etc. I got them all up and moving while we marched along to the Ants Go Marching (it really worked some of them out!). Another favorite was when we read/sang There Was An Old Lady. They couldn't believe how many things she swallowed!
Each week the kids are becoming more and more interactive with me and the music we make together and it is a joy to experience.
