Do The Slide & In The Sky!
May 20-24

The slide whistle is a favorite among all age groups and helps children learn to coordinate their fine motor skills along with simultaneous breath management.  The kiddos had a great time as they practiced listening for their cue word "whistle" to play their slide whistle while reading Whistle For Willie by Ezra Jack Keats.  Other than humans, we also discussed some of the other animals or objects that we know can whistle (birds, trains, tea kettles, etc.).  We were so proud to see those who have not played the slide whistle before learn how to master their hand/breath coordination!  The younger classrooms had a slightly different theme due to age, which was "In The Sky."  We sang fun songs using the ukulele and in acapela teaching about the sun, moon, stars, and butterflies!
