Whatever you'd like to call them...

BUGS -- CREEPY CRAWLIES -- INSECTS
_________________________________

We sang about them today! :)
The children enjoyed the following tunes:

*A-Hunting We Will Go--we pretended to trap a "bug" (a student) in the circle and let them go. Students chose what insect they would be!

*Where is the Beehive?--A fun "buzzing" fingerplay

*Shoo-Fly--Played as a "pass the hankerchief" as you sing game, the children enjoyed "shooing" eachother!

*There was a little Grasshopper--A fun fingerplay song about a grasshopper who never looks where he is going! In the infant class, this song was performed as a "bouncing" activity.

There were several more insect songs and fingerplays we performed in class today. We also had lots of fun conversation about bugs and learned some new vocabulary, like the word "proboscis"! Ask your child about insects today!

SCHOOL AGE UPDATE: Our school age class is very excited about being a part of the creation and professional recording of the prayer accompaniment CD that I am creating for our new program, "Growing In Grace". This is our new children's praise program that will be a daily part of Joyful Noise for all age groups! Miss Amanda Faltinowski and Miss Bev are working on writing and instructing the curriculum, and our job as the music class is to represent those prayers/chants/songs for all students with an easy to use "CD". Expect lots of neat "behind the scenes in the studio" pictures and clips as we practice. Right now we are still in the rehearsal stage, and we will expect to begin recording in later July on a Thursday morning.
