Music Class April 15-19

Last week was all about the celebration of Easter!  We started off by speaking of the true meaning of the Christian Easter by showing the children photos of the cross, and representations of Jesus' glorious emergence from the tomb:  He is RISEN!

We then discussed additions to the Easter celebration, such as coloring eggs, stories of the Easter Bunny and talked about traditional Easter family dinners.  Colorful Plastic eggs were passed out (and VERY well sealed!) containing different household noisemaking items such as coins/change, jelly beans, paper clips, jingle bells and wooden beads.  (The infants in the nursery were given real shakers for safety reasons.)  The children learned about the guitar and had the opportunity to strum the strings (very gently, of course!).  We sang a song with many verses about a silly chicken that laid a "shaking egg" as they listened carefully for when to shake their eggs fast, slow, high, low, and in circular motions.  Other classes sang together a song called, "The Little Easter Bunny." Everyone had great energy this week!
