I AM A PIZZA!
And other call and response work...
This week in music class, we worked on learning about "echoes", "call and response" and repeating! The children were interested in having a discussion about the types of places you might hear an echo--a long hallway, a cave, or as one student suggested, a canyon!
We sang a little ditty called "Little Sir Echo" that is all about someone who is inadvertently trying to make friends with another voice they hear--their own echo!
The kids also enjoyed making their own pretend pizzas while we sang another call and response song entitled, "I am a Pizza." It is a funny tune all about a delicious pizza being made that accidentally gets dropped upside down in the box and ruined. At the end, the pizza is singing with a funny sad voice, and the kids thought this was hilarious!
Our younger students also had a blast singing with puppets for Old MacDonald, and figuring out a musical puzzle I brought for a little fine motor/problem solving challenge. The instruments on the puzzle included the piano, trumpet, drums, harmonica, violin, xylophone, guitar and tuba.
Check out the extender questions below to keep the conversation going at home! =)
