ANDONG MASK FESTIVAL!
Do you know where South Korea is? If not, let our geography helper show you on the map!
Today we learned about the Andong Mask Festival
in South Korea! The children enjoyed dancing, using masks, pretending to have a fireworks show and observing traditional dance videos!
Our main discovery points today:
- Andong Mask Festival is celebrated in South Korea every year (around this time!)
- Masks were used to bring good luck for harvests, scare away bad spirits, and in many ceremonies.
- The festival is usually accompanied with an awesome fireworks show!
See videos of our students practicing Andong dance moves, hear mp3s of our singing, and view the dance videos we watched from South Korea today! (All below). Have a great Tuesday!
