Hello Joyful Noise Parents!
September brings about the changing of summer to fall. As the leaves turn colors and blow away and the days grow colder and shorter change can be found nipping at your nose. This year those big fall gusts have brought in a NEW music teacher! My name is Miss Genevieve and I am thrilled to have joined the Joyful Noise team. It was so nice to meet some of you already at the open house last evening, and I look forward to meeting the rest of you very soon! I am a recent graduate of Hope College where I studied instrumental conducting and general music under Dr. Robert Southard. I can play many instruments, but my primary is the bassoon and clarinet. While attending Hope College I played in the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and Symphony Orchestra. I also had many opportunities to conduct these groups/my peers in concert where I was able to really strengthen my passion for music. I also participated in small chamber groups (Bassoon Trio, Woodwind Quintet, FACE) working closely with other musicians.
After graduating from Hope I was unsure of what the next step for me might look like. I was given a position at Tutor Time where I fell in love with teaching children. I was the lead assistant in their Early Preschool classroom working primarily with 2.5-3 year olds. After some time had passed and I was comfortable in my position, my heart ached to be back in music. Life just wasn't the same without my greatest passion. And then... my prayers were answered when I came to Joyful Noise and met your director Sally. I instantly fell in love with the center as well as all of the lovely staff.
I am so looking forward to this opportunity to broaden the musical minds of your growing children and to *hopefully* help them foster a love for the arts here at JN and at home with you! If you have any questions/comments or would just like to introduce yourself feel free to email (musicatjn@gmail.com) or stop in to see me in person.
Best Wishes!
Miss Genevieve
