DICE DANCING!

Lots of giggles could be heard around the room as we combined math and music this week!

Using a Kid's Bop CD and some unused energy, we gathered around the rug with a pair of interesting clear dice (and we learned about how one is called a "die"). The kids each took turns rolling the pair and calculating their result:

To add them together, we simply held them up and counted the dots. I then repeated:

"_____ + ______ = ______"

It was a great way to get some math in to our music lesson!

Everyone got a chance to "solo" dance in the middle, which was a lot of fun!

The infants enjoyed dancing to the Kid's Bop CD as well, and singing "Bye Baby Bunting". We took little tissues and wrapped some of the figures up in the infant room as we sang in tiny "blankies".

They loved doing this!

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CHILD

1) What were some of the dance moves you did in music class?

2) A pair of dice is two. What is the word for one?
