LISTEN AND RESPOND
This week in music, our goal was to experience different types of music, move our bodies, and react with words and descriptions of how it made us feel!
Examples of music that was played to all age groups:
Classical: The Nutcracker Overture
Traditional Indian Music: A "Thumri" instrumental
Pop Music: "Everything Is Awesome" (Lego Movie)
Jazz Music: "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller
and some classes also listened to rain sounds!
Make sure to look for the mind maps that we drew in ages 2 and up. The results of our posters should be hanging nearby somewhere so you can ask your child about them! Here are a few examples of what we came up with:
We also had fun playing peek-a-boo and continuing our experimentation with the triangle in the toddler and the infant room!

1) Can you tell me about the music you heard in music class? Was it fast or slow?
2) Did you hear rain sounds?
3) Did you dance with a partner in music class?
