FUN WITH TRIANGLES!
We learned all about triangles in music this week! We listened to their chime-like sounds, practiced holding them by a string so they would properly vibrate, and struck them with a "striker" to make the noise!
I also read the children a little home-made book that our schoolagers had written a few years back that included some drawings and musical reflections over the triangles and how they sounded.
We also played a super fun game to the tune of "Frere Jacques"! While the group quietly sang, "Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping?", one or two students pretended to be Brother John, sleeping in the middle of the carpet. When "morning bells are ringing" arrived, everyone played their triangles to wake up their snoozing friends! Watch below for a cute video of the very excited three year olds playing this game!
Don't forget to check out your extender questions below, as well. Have a great week!
