IT'S NATIONAL REPEAT DAY!
IT'S NATIONAL REPEAT DAY!

Tuesday, June 3rd is National Repeat Day! I thought there couldn't be a more fitting time for us to learn about the repeat symbol. I taught the children today that a repeat symbol was "two lines and two dots" and its meaning in music calls for a repeat of whatever you just played or sang! What a fitting time to learn echo and call and response songs. We also used puppets, read from a large animal song book, and did activity sheets that helped a little rabbit find the rest symbol through a maze (3& up).

Check out the videos, lyric sheets and questions below so that you can extend the lesson at home!

NO MORE PIE
(A call and response song)

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CHILD:

1. What does a repeat symbol look like? Two lines and two dots! (See above).

2. What does it mean? It means to repeat, echo, or do it again!

3. Do you remember the song about pie? What happened in the song? See the lyrics above so you can try singing at home!
