HICKORY DICKORY DOCK!

We enjoyed this traditional nursery rhyme and fingerplay today with manipulatives! Children ages two and up are coming home with a small paper mouse and clock to use. Children three and up have their mouse attached to a straw that can slide up and down the sheet of paper (where the clock and song lyrics are located).

We also used a xylophone in conjunction with the song! I performed "up" and "down" as a run on the xylophone and also used the steps of the scale as the chiming of the clock ("the clock struck one", etc.)

The kids really enjoyed using their own mice and relating the chimes of the clock to the major scale ("do-re-mi") as well! Check out the pictures and videos of us below exploring the xylophone and using our manipulatives. Check your child's cubby today for their song pieces or download the printable I've uploaded for you from today shown below!
