Fourth of July March!
We had a great time marching with our flag today! Some highlights of class were:
--Reading “Ten in the Bed” with my famous “Mr. Dog” puppet. As your child about Mr. Dog’s “funny voice”. J
--Saying our name syllables as rhythms with the drum! The kids really enjoyed this. Please watch the video below to see adorable toddlers marching and learn why rhythms and syllables have a positive effect on your child’s brain development!
--Marching with flags to slow, medium and fast tempo—and don’t forget the freezing! Older children giggled like crazy when we put things on “fast forward” and I used a silly high voice.
FYI: Two’s music class has been rescheduled to Thursday from 10:50-11:05 a.m.!
SCHOOL AGE MUSIC UPDATE: Last week’s music class was yet another practice for our first three prayer songs/chants that we will be recording for a praise CD to accompany our new kid’s worship program, “Growing in Grace”, due to start in Fall 2012. We are so excited to begin! The children also enjoyed playing with the “junk” and kitchen instruments last week. This week we will begin our official recording and you can expect an update and some very neat pics next Tuesday! J
