INFANT THROUGH SCHOOL AGE

Today in music class we enjoyed learning all about the bass guitar! We discovered how many strings most electric bass guitars have (four) and what their names are, respectively, in standard tuning: E, A, D, and G. We also learned that the bass has strings that are much thicker than a guitar or some other stringed instruments, causing a lower vibration and tone. We enjoyed watching a short instructional video about how to play bass with your fingers and also practiced rhythms with shakers!

We watched a video in our class of this same instructor showing basic technique with his fingers and also, illustrating simple rhythms. Check out this episode on "funk bass"!
