ABOUT OUR INFANT PROGRAMS...
Recently, in talking with some of our parents, I realized that a few folks had the impression that at Joyful Noise, only the older kids are a part of the music program! If you look on the calendar, you will note that this isn't the case, but often even when parents see the time slot, they still tend to ask..."What exactly do you DO in infant music class?"
Well, the answer is "ALOT!" We are moving, singing, playing, rocking, and experiencing. Each week, each infant in the room has individual one on one music time. There is gentle exposure to tones, songs, general rhythm instruments and music styles, with an emphasis on how they may be combined with movement, touch, and gross motor exercises.
I've included this short video with a little glimpse into what one child's personalized music time looks like! Each child is different in the way they preferred to be held, sung to, and interacted with. The individualized program allows us to make sure that each infant is content during their music time!

INFANT THROUGH SCHOOL AGE
This week we used our Remo fruit and vegetable shakers in music class to make music! We sang familiar songs like "Shake them to the left", "It's so Good To See You" and more! Want to make a simple shaker at home? Check out the parent link and try it out...it's easy! Once you've made a shaker try this simple chant with your child:
SHAKE 'EM HIGH
Shake them high (reach way up high)
Shake them low (reach to the floor)
Up to the ceiling! (up high)
Down to your toes! (down low)
If you want to get some giggles, try going increasingly faster and faster to the beat. Fun musical exercise!
