
Today in our music class, we read a book about the violin, and what private music lessons are like! The little girl in the story learned some of the same concepts we are learning in our class, like how to play quarter notes and rests, hold her instrument properly, and practice regulary!
We also learned a new symbol today: the repeat symbol. When you reach this symbol at the end of the staff, it means that you should go back to the very beginning and "repeat" the music, or play it all once more!
Combining the concepts we've learned so far (quarter notes, quarter rests, the staff, the treble clef and the repeat symbol), we are now practicing a color coded piece of music called "The Rainbow Scale". You can print this music by printing the picture below, or clicking on the link I've provided.
