CYMBALS!
From small finger cymbals to handheld to the hi-hat from the full drum set (shown above), the kids absolutely loved the "crash", "CLANG" and "boom!" of the cymbals in music class this week.
We learned that the cymbals are made of metal, and come in different sizes. We also learned that bigger usually means louder and lower, while smaller cymbals are more quiet and higher-pitched. We learned that cymbals are often "banged" together for sound, while some are played with drumsticks (like the hi-hat pictured).
The kids had a blast trying out the foot pedal on the hi-hat, which opened and closed the top and bottom cymbals like a sandwich. We learned that playing the hi-hat open is very loud, while closing it causes the vibration of the cymbals to become more of a muted sound.
Check out the cute pictures and videos below for more of a glimpse in to our fun and noisy music class this week!
