BODY RHYTHMS!
This week in music class the kids had a fun time moving their bodies to the rhythm cards that I provided! We created music by performing a variety of body movements in a pattern: stomp, tap your lap, hand clap, hand rub and finger snap (or tongue click, for friends that can't quite yet snap their fingers).
After working on trying the rhythms with the laminated cards I brought, we spread out big stacks of small squares with the images and body rhythms on them, and the kids created their own unique patterns and rhythms, which they the performed around the circle!
We also enjoyed performing the "Little Fred" fingerplay for the 2nd week in a row, as well as "Rain on the Green Grass" in the infant room. Check out all of the pictures and videos below, and as always, don't forget to ask your child some of the extender questions to reiterate the lessons we learned this week in music class!

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CHILD
1. What symbols did you see on the papers in music class? What did the pictures mean?
2. Can you make a rhythm with your body?
3. What did Little Fred stop to do before he went to bed? (Say his prayers, kiss his mama and papa, go up the stairs)
