Songs of the Season

There's no doubt that fall is here, with the breezy days and turning leaves that have been appearing in Michigan the past few weeks!

We are celebrating this change in music class with songs about fall, leaves turning, scarecrows and autumn breezes.

Check out the lyrics and videos below!

SCARECROW MOVEMENT CHANT

Scarecrow, Scarecrow turn around

Scarecrow, Scarecrow jump up and down!

Scarecrow, Scarecrow arms up high!

Scarecrow, Scarecrow wink your eye.

Scarecrow, Scarecrow bend your knee

Scarecrow, Scarecrow sway in the breeze

Scarecrow, Scarecrow climb into bed

Scarecrow, Scarecrow rest your head!

Sleep little Leaves

Sleep little leaves for the Autumn is calling you

Cold blows the breezes and dark is the sun

Sleep little leaves for the Autumn has come at last

Sleep little leaves for the Autumn has come

The kids love to sing this song about leaves falling to the ground. We fall ever so slowly, pretending to be turning leaves drifting from the tree. Sometimes a friend will play the role of "Autumn", tapping friends individually on the head to signal them to start to fall!
